Homesteading with Bill

Do you long for a simpler, more self-sufficient way of life?
Does the idea of homesteading resonate with you but feels hard to reach?
Maybe you wonder:
How do I get there? How much will it cost? Where do I even begin?

Hi. I’m Bill McKenney.
I’m a carpenter and homesteader who has been living this life for over 40 years.
One of my strengths is helping people see the order their project needs to follow—what to do first, what can wait, and how to avoid costly mistakes. I help you move forward with confidence, not guesswork.
If you’re drawn to a simpler, more self-sufficient life and want practical guidance from someone who has already done it, I can help you get there.

Most people don't need more information--
They need to know where to start and
the steps that will get them there.
Bil McKenney

Homesteader - Jimmy N.I called Bill to get some expert advice on restoring an old log cabin . After we discussed it for a bit, I asked him where to begin. He told me the first thing to do was to build a pair of sawhorses. This was not exactly the advice I had expected. But, do you know what? I used those sawhorses every day. They have made every task easier and the work more efficient. When I remarked on this later, he said,
“The right first steps aren't always exciting,
but they make everything else possible.”

Boy, was he right!

How I HelpI help people who are drawn to a simpler, more self-sufficient life
turn that desire into a realistic, workable plan.
Homesteading isn’t about doing everything at once—
It’s about doing the right things in the right order.
I help you think through where to start, what can wait,
and how today’s choices affect what comes next.

Depending on your needs, that may look like:• Helping you plan a project from the ground up
• Talking through time, budget, and materials before you spend money
• Coaching you as you build skills, confidence, and momentum
• Working alongside you on practical carpentry projects when appropriate
My goal is to help you move forward steadily, avoid common mistakes,
and build a life that works.

Sorry. I don't care a fig for social media. You won't find me there.
